WHS Workplace Committee Refresher / Awareness Program
This program focuses on giving committee members confidence in understanding what activities and practices they have been doing well and what improvements may be made to improve committee effectiveness.
It gives committee members an opportunity to learn new skills and ways of being able to run meetings effectively and efficiently and well as completing committee responsibilities professionally.
Duration: One Days - 09:00am to 04:00pm

- Legislative basis for establishing health and safety committees
- The role of the health and safety committee
- The role of health and safety committee members
- Employer’s responsibilities towards health and safety committees
- HSRs and their link with HSCs
- Strategies to improve consultation and committee meeting effectiveness including:
- Ensuring your health and safety committee is effective
- Effective meeting practices
- KPI’s for the committee to review its effectiveness
- Initiatives and activities the committee members can take in the future to be more effective
- Action Plan
