- Current OHS Legislative framework and the new WHS legislation coming into effect in 2012. Detailed review of:
- the Industrial Relations laws that effect the OHS laws and the OHS Act,
- OHS Regulation/s,
- Codes of Practice or Guidance Materials
- Australian Standards.
- Duty of Care, Due diligence and responsibility. What these mean in practical day to day management and supervision of employees
- Supervisors and Managers responsibilities including:
- case studies,
- how to run a tool box talk
- Setting standards and guidelines to follow
- Counselling employees with unacceptable behaviours in accordance with industrial relations laws.
- Employees Responsibilities
- Role Of WorkCover Inspectors, the Authority and their rights and obligations towards education and enforcement
- OHS Management Systems and how to set one up
- OHS Consultation requirements in the workplace and record keeping practices
- OHS Risk management practices including the requirement and ways to identify hazards, assess risks and eliminate or control risks
- Incident investigation practices and requirements.
- Workers Compensation legislation and Return To Work Obligations and requirements.
